...than G.F. Seriously. I don't think you can appreciate how cold it is here. Its cold. Like cold. Like really, really COLD. I hope the italics and the CAPS lock can convey exactly how cold it is here. Its cold. Really. Damn. Cold. And to put it into perspective....
Today, the average temperature in G.F. was colder than today's average temperature on the top of Mt. Everest. Really. My little slice of heaven was colder than the top of the highest mountain on this planet. That's cold, folks. Really, really cold. Don't worry, we still had class...and I attended all of them...

So, as luck would have it, I thought I would have at least 30 minutes to write today. But, I only have like 5. I have laundry to go switch and then off to the Alley so I can strip some lanes before our bowling league comes in tonight.


I talked to a few of my friends today who have all started their first day of classes.

Kels-Had a lovely meeting this morning at 7am and was informed that her sport got switched. Not the best news, but not the worst. When I talked to her she hadn't had class yet and was on her way at 3. Then, off to softball practice. Until 8 or 9 :( Feel sorry for her, I do!

Alex-Started class today at 8am and was done at 2pm. When I talked to her I was on speaker phone (AWKWARD) and one of my sisters said hello. So, I had a short lovely talk with the two of them. They are both "big shots" at the Wellness Center and were headed over to pick up their keys. OH LA LA!

Allie-Told me she sent me a package! Oh how fun, I love to get packages. I know that the package contains: a dog brush, a bottle of dog shampoo, (both things I left that belong to Baylie, our family dog), and one lone sock. So hopefully that isn't all in the package, not that I'm greedy or anything, it is just that I like not to be told what is in a package that way I can be surprised, even if it is just a sock :)

Stacey-Overslept on her first day of school, so, she decided to not go at all.

Also, it had been brought to my attention: THE FROZEN TUNDRA, IS REALLY FROZEN! E.G. THEY ALL SAID IT WAS SUPER COLD

Those were my updates for the day. It was nice to talk to all of them, by phone and text. I miss them. TONS.

...warm days for quite a while...

I woke up this morning for my 7 am meeting to a balmy -36 degree temperature. Luckily my car started and I didn't have to walk across campus at 6:40 in the frigid weather. At this meeting, I found out I have been switched from being an athletic trainer for the baseball team to the softball team. Yuck.

I love watching award shows and I love picking apart the outfits. Here is my dissection of the Golden Globes:
-Drew Barrymore had some major JBF hair...
-Renee Zellweger's hair was AWFUL
-Loved Kate Winslet, the blonde girl from House, Eva Longoria and Amy Adams. That's about it.
I realized I will never look like these people and so I should not judge them...but its so much fun! And I can't believe Mickey Rourke won. Really? Mickey Rourke? Gross... But Leonardo DiCaprio was foxy as always!

I saw Gran Torino over the weekend. I love Clint Eastwood. He was brilliant in the movie. If you don't mind some swearing and racial slurs, I would recommend this movie. I also saw Bride Wars...it was pretty cute. This is a little more for the mainstream crowd than Gran Torino I would say...

I have a habit of leaving things just lying around (right, Kayt?) and while making my six hour drive realized I had left my shampoo, my conditioner, my toothbrush, and my medicine at home...real smart.

more Kayt...Just kidding!

So, I have been gone for a while now. Away from society, in the middle of the country, "no-mans-land" i.e. The place I call home. Such things as computers, telephones and radios are rarely heard of. Just kidding, but they are hard to come by. I have a limited amount of time to write I'm on a 30 minute deadline, that is all the time the library allows use of for the public computers, you see, they are in HIGH DEMAND!

If you are an avid sports fan, or a not so avid sports fan, you might know that all the Bowl games are going on right now. Tonight, is the only one I am watching! The game between Oklahoma and Florida. I have big plans, going over to my Gramps' house to watch the game with Gramps and Dad! Lots of bets have been made with all the old men that come into our restaurant, and OU better pull through, or else I'm out quite a bit of money :(

I sent word to my cousin and his wife who are going to be having twins in April. Told them I would be more than happy to come help out for a while if they want. I haven't gotten an exact answer yet. He did send me a piece of advice that I found very liberating.

I'll keep you updated on the progress of my "semester off." i.e. the plans that go/fall through. What I intend to do. Yaddie, yaddie, yaddie. But as I told my mom, "I'm living one day at a time, and I'm loving it!"

I couldn't really think of a title for this entry. All I know is, is this an amazing thing. As many of you know, I am a die-hard Minnesota Twins fans. There are many, many reasons beyond Joe Mauer for this reason. Here is one example:

I amazes me that there are professional athletes out there doing these kinds of things everyday and all ESPN can talk about is Adam "Pacman" Jones' latest encounter with the law or steroid allegations.

While I understand some of these people want it to be semi-anonymous, ESPN could focus a little bit more on the humanity that athlete's have and not about who they are dating (unless its Joe Mauer :D).

I hope in the years to come more athletes like Justin Morneau, and all the others that donate from their own pockets for people they don't know, can show the world that not all athletes shoot themselves in the foot, literally...

...more Bush's rugs in the White House...

While I understand some of our demographic (a whooping four people) may be Republicans...


I am currently watching MSNBC and all five living presidents (Bush Uno, Bush Dos, Obama, Clinton, and Carter) met in the White House today under the request of Barack Obama. And while they were showing video clips of said meeting, President Clinton said "Nice rug", complimenting the rug in the Oval Office. This launches the anchor into an explanation that every president gets to decorate the office and design a rug for the Oval Office. The anchor (obviously a Bush-hater) starts cracking jokes about how that is all Bush cares about. MSNBC then goes into a montage of clips about President Bush talking about his carpet and how it is the first thing he points out when giving tours. He said that he proudly delegated his first job as the President of the United States to Laura Bush. He told her he wanted to convey optimism. That an optimistic man comes here to work everyday. Maybe he should be less concerned about conveying to others that his rug is optimistic and more concerned about the people's optimism in him... Because that is exactly what the leader of the free world should be concerned and proud about. His rug. Hilarious.

Apparently, Pres. Clinton and Pres. Carter HATE each other. They had to stand next to each other during the press op. You could almost see the huge barrier between them. Hilarious.

I just thought that it was a little funny. Hope you enjoyed it.

Haha. And the anchor just made another, completely unrelated joke about President Bush while going over the weirdest news or something. I need to start watching MSNBC more often.

fatty foods tonight!

Obviously, it has been a while since either Kayt or I have blogged. My excuse, I have been waiting for her to do it. Both of our excuses, nothing exciting has been happening.

Until now.

I get to have my gall bladder ultrasounded tomorrow. Joy. So tonight I can only eat fruit, jello, vegetables cooked in water, and clear broth. After midnight, I can consume NOTHING. Even if I am dying of thirst...NOTHING. Well, I suppose that this fasting will be good for me in the long run...if only I could do it every day...

Anywho. Here are some randos from the past week(s)...

-Ugly sweater party = awesome. Everyone needs to have an ugly Christmas sweater and wear it...often...
-Working at the movie theater isn't as glamorous as it sounds...unless you work with my fellow "Castmembers"...and a very cute boy!
-Speaking of co-workers...Bowling with the kids I work with is probably the best time bowling you will ever have in your life (unless you are bowling with my co-workers at Burgies :D)
-I got luggage for Christmas. Joy.
-I had an AMAZING dream about Joe Mauer...its too bad this blog is G-rated!
-Marley and Me=amazing. See it. Now.

I can't think of anything else right now. I just though I would update the blog. Someone needs to hassle Kayt to blog.
