More waiting!

I know I have kept you all in a ridiculous amount of anticipation on what it takes to be a good movie-goer. Here it goes:

We will go through this in order as if you are actually going to a movie in order to avoid confusion. Follow along. Keep up. Don't get lost.

1)When pulling up in front of the movie theatre, it is common practice to let a non-driver out of the vehicle to get in line and purchase the tickets while the driver parks the vehicle. DO NOT have a conversation in the middle of the street. Some people have more important things to be doing than waiting for you to move your ass out of the way while talking about what size popcorn to get.

2) Pay attention when in line. It gets really old to say "NEXT" every minute or so because people are not staying with the flow of the line.

3) KNOW WHAT MOVIE YOU WANT TO SEE! You should know what movie you want to see BEFORE you get the boxoffice.

4) When asking for tickets it should go like this:
Employee: Hi, welcome to *Name of Theatre*. What movie are you seeing this evening?
You: Hi, we need # adults to *movie. (NOTE: if you have children also say: We have a child, and two juniors. If you do not know the age category, be prepared to tell us their age. We are not age guessers. Do not be mad if we assume your 11 year old is a 12 year old and charge them more. Know your kids' ages dammit.)
Employee: Okay! That will be $ please.
You: *Hand over the money you have already in your hand, because you know you have to pay eventually and why waste everyone's time digging it out after we tell you the amount.
Employee: Thank you and enjoy the show!
You: *DO NOT take the tickets until they are handed you! The ticket spitter-outter is an extension of the cashier's body. You wouldn't grab their boob, don't grab the tickets. And then you promptly walk away and deal with your screaming kid outside of the line.

5) At the concession stand: If it is busy and you do not know what you want, let us serve other people first. It is rude to stand there for 3 minutes with 20 people behind you trying to decide between plain M&Ms and peanut M&Ms. Do not be rude when the concession sales person asks if you would like to upgrade a medium to a large for a certain deal. This is their job. They get paid to do this. If they do not, they get in trouble. You would not want a customer of yours to yell at you when you ask if they want glass doors or oak doors (assuming you are a contractor) Same basic principal. Be nice. To everyone. Even if you are having a bad day. Be nice. Again, you know you are going to have to pay sometime so have your money ready.

6) Keep track of your tickets. On weekends and busy nights, and some places every day, there will be someone there to take your ticket. That's why we give you one. Don't lose it. Don't get mad at the ticket taker when you do lose it. Thanks.

7) Don't be on your cell phone in the movie. Duh. You paid 10 dollars to see the movie so watch the dang thing. If you must talk to the person next to you, talk quietly. When the movie is over, pick up your drink cups and popcorn bags and any other garbage you have and dispose of them in the garbages located at the exit doors. ESPECIALLY if you have kids. What kind of lession are you teaching them if you let them leave their garbage on the ground. The movie theatre is not your house. Yes we will clean it, but it will be much cleaner and you will get to sit faster the next time you come to the movies if everyone does this.

8) Enjoy yourself. Don't come to the movie crabby. It ruins everyone's day.

9) Have fun and BE NICE. Thanks a heap.

more pre-school for PeeWee...He is off to bigger and better things!

So, back in May, my little P graduated from Pre-school! I can't believe it! I remember the day he was born...I was a freshman in high school! My-Oh-My how times flies. (Couple more years and I'll be re-writing this post for little Miss Kartoon! AHHH!)

These little 5 year olds really had no clue what was going on. They had practiced and practiced for this event, and did such a wonderful job at staying in line and doing what they were told. They don't really get the point of "graduation", which is okay...They will "get" it once they become seniors in high school and college. Until then, their families will just make this little accomplishment seem like the coolest thing ever! Here is how every thing went down. They sang songs, did some recognitions of some very special helpers, sang a few more songs (super cute!), got their diplomas, then paraded out to turn in their caps and gowns. (Which were all hand made might I add. God bless the special lady who took the time to make brand new caps and gowns for these cute kiddos!) Then, we got to eat cookies, drink some juice, and see all the cool projects and crafts the kids had done throughout the year. The teacher, who just happens to be P's aunt on his dad's side, even made a special scrapbook for each kid!

I asked P what he wanted as a graduation gift. He wants a lunch box, so we have a search to go on...Here is a story of our luck so far.

We were at Wal-Mart the middle of July and I saw there were some lunch boxes out on display. I took P over to take a look to see if there was one he wanted. His 3 options: Blue Transformer, Jonas Brothers, and Pink Disney Princess. Well, of course Pink Disney Princess was out first! Then things got a little difficult. P started looking at the Blue Transformer. I thought he was sold, and boom bam dang, my job would be done...NOT SO LUCKY. He picks it up does a look over, and I once again remind him, "If you don't see one you want, don't worry about it, we have the rest of the summer to look for just the right one." His response, "I know, just let me look for a second." So he continues looking at Transformer, then says to me, "Well I like it, but I don't really like the blue. I say, "Well okay, that's fine. We'll just leave and look somewhere else." "But Aunt Kayt," he says, "wait, I'm not done looking." WHAT? How can he not be done the only one left is a JoBro! I said P, "You don't want that one, you don't even know who those boys are. Don't you want one that has things/people on it that you know who they are?" "AUNT KAYT (said on a 5 year old exasperated sigh) I do too know who they are, they are the Jonas Brothers! But, you're, right I don't want it." P then walked off leaving me with my mouth wide open...My 5 year old nephew knows who the JoBros are?! What????

Needless to say, we still don't have a lunch box. Better get on that soon, school starts in about a week!

living at home for a while

I have officially moved back north for the new school year. I had to come up early to help with football two-a-days. but I have an APARTMENT! Yay! Its really small but its mine (and Alex's) and I'm okay with that. We have really nice furniture and accesories so if you ignore the size you would not think it belonged to poor college students. The worst part is that I have no internet yet so I'm typing this while sitting in the Union. This is the second time I've come here today to get internet and they close at 5:30 so I'll be internetless for ANOTHER night. Not good.

I realized I haven't blogged pretty much all summer. I was working three jobs so I didn't have a whole lot of free time. I was working at a physical therapy clinic as an aide (which I LOVED), a mental health facility as a transcriptionist, and then the movie theater at night. The topic of my next post will be movie-goer etiquette.

I promise I will most more soon but I have a lot more internet surfing to do and the Union is closing soon!

Baylie-a.k.a. The Yellow Tornado. As most of you know, the 3 Burgman Girls (mostly me) thought it would be a good idea to get Mr. Kayt's Dad a dog for his birthday. With the help of a dear friend, Allie, I found Baylie in Grand Forks last November. With the help of Brett, Allie's boyfriend, his wonderful roommates, and their big house and huge backyard, I was able to get Baylie and keep her for 5 weeks before I headed home for semester break.

stopping until I'm done

Hello my friends. I'm back! I have lots of stories for you all and I hope that you will follow along, as it will take a couple of posts to get you all updated. I'm going to start with May (with the exception of a few late nights with my dad back in February) and move on through the months up until now.

So, get comfortable, because here I go.

February- My dad works at Ray Ranch. They have cattle and do a lot of haying. During the late winter month's it is "calving season" this is when all the pregnant mommy cows/heifers start to have their babies. I've always enjoyed farm/ranch life and told my dad when he took on the 12:00am and 2:00am shifts that I would like to go help him. Well, off we went in the dead-set of winter to check on these beasts. It was a few late nights (or maybe early mornings, depending on how you look at it) but totally worth it! I had such a good time. Here are some pictures.

This little booger it 702, he is the only one that I really got to help with. It was our 2:00a.m. check and Dad and I were making our last round before heading home, and I said, "DAD! WE'VE GOT A BABY!" Dad went to the calving barn got the wheel barrow and we loaded him up and took him to the nice warm and cozy shed where he patiently awaited the arrival of his mommy. She, got lost in the hustle and bustle of dad and I trying to get her and baby to the shed, so, we had to go back out into the 138 head of other mommas and find her! That was a task, in the dead of night with a spot-light and 2 acres of ground to search...it took some time. But we finally found her and after some rounding up, some Ya-Ya, and some smooth talking we got the mommy in with her new-born. And, life was good!

Below, are the thre of us (Bayli-the ever so ready dog, Me-don't laugh, I had just crawled out of bed, and Dad-he had just crawled out of bed too)

After calving season, usually by the first week of May or so, is "Branding", that's when ranchers put their brand on all the new little ones and weigh,vaccinate, de-worm, etc all the moms. (I don't have pictures.) I got to help with that also and boy oh boy was that fun. Hard work, long day, good company, and the best part, the "Branding Meal!"

Anyways, this post is mostly for Kels...

2. I added a countdown for your 21st Birthday!!! (Later we will add another countdown titled...Kayt and Kels re-unite!) For all you other bloggers out there, check the gadget tool on your http://www.blogspot.com/ layout page. There are lots of neat things.
3. I have been looking at bumper stickers on http://www.facebook.com/ lately and have come to the terribly sad conclusion that sending you one has no meaning anymore. We don't hang out to have that odd understanding of why the sticker was sent in the first place...This realization made me very sad :( for I have not sent or been sent a bumpersticker from Facebook in a very long time.
SIDE NOTE:However, I did send Allie, http://lifeinasnapshot.blogspot.com/, a bumper sticker not too long ago, but it was perfect. Let me explain. When we became roommates in August of 2008, I found out a fact. The fact that Allie loves Jon and Kate Plus 8. On Facebook the other day, I found a bumpersticker that I just had to send to Allie. The bumpersticker was a family portrait of the Gosselin Family and underneath in big bold letters was the word "FAIL". HAHAHA!!! As you could imagine, Allie didn't find it quite as humorous as I, but that is okay. I have not ever been a big fan of the show. Sure, I'll watch it, but only because it is on when someone else is watching it. Main reason I don't watch it-I am a Kate. No, no, no, yes my name is Kayt, similar, but...If I were to ever become a mom I would be a Kate Gosselin. And that, my folks, scares me! Our personalities are very similar (like our names). I understand she is the way she is because she has to raise 8 kids, but I act like her when I have only P and Kartoon to take care of. Could you imagine how I would act with 3 or more!? So, people I ask you, do you really think I want to see what I would act like in 10 years if I had kids? The answer is NO! Let life be a surprise, and pray to God that by the time I get to the "having kids" stage of life I will be more mellow.
4. Working today, the special was a Runza wrap...it was hamburger, cabbage, etc...The smell reminded me of eggrolls, then I became hungry for eggrolls and Chinese food. Specifically eggrolls and Chinese food from that chinese restaurant on 32nd in G.F. where you Alex and I would go. Then this made me miss you and Alex. (and you too Allie, we made a few trips there together too.)

Why hello there, geez it has been a while!

I do believe that the only two people in the cyber world who know I am alive is Kels and my sister, Lex. That is only because I talk to them both on the phone every once in a while.

I just wanted you all to know that I have been very busy these past summer days. I am taking 2 online courses and they take up most of my time. Well, that and working at Burgie's. I get done with my summer semester in a little over 2 weeks! WooHoo! (Well, maybe WooHoo!) After they get over, I'll be back at Burgie's full time. (hmm, another round of summer courses?) NO, No, no, I do believe I will be okay. Anyways, I just wanted to get on "There will be no..." and let you all know to be expecting the longest post (with pictures included) written by none other, than the "silent partner" (as Kels likes to call me)! It will update you all with the things that have been keeping me busy lately. Okay, well I got to jet, I have chitlets to watch. (my nephew (P) and my niece (Kar-toon))
