Swine Flu!

Sorry about the long delay between posts. I've been super busy lately. Here's whats been going down lately...
-Swine flu. Please don't get it, and if you do, don't give it to me, I have a compromised immune system.
-JOE MAUER IS BACK TONIGHT! YAY! So I'm being awesome and watching baseball on a Friday night. I don't even care. I LOVE JOE! And Kevin Slowey is pitching tonight so all the much better!
- Tomorrow is the Big Event. For those of you who don't know, the Big Event is our university's way of giving back to the community. You sign up in groups and each group gets assigned tasks like cleaning churches, parks, people's homes, etc, etc. I am in an athletic training group - which has been put at the same sight as two other athletic teams (football and baseball) because they thought we would know them and have more fun this way. Yeah, it will be fun, especially since I'm with the football team right now BUT, I see these guys everyday already. Oh well, it should be interesting!
-Thursday is PARTY BUS! This year's theme is Disney characters. I will be Mrs. Incredible.
-Only four days of classes, and then finals! This year has gone so fast! I'm halfway through with my undergraduate already.
-Alex and I are looking for apartments (we are willing to take donations...)
-I have a few summer jobs. Growing up sucks, I don't want to pay for rent!
-Downy Winkle Releaser is the BEST THING EVER! I use it every day
-I bought grape Kool-Aid packets. Not as great as I remembered as a child.
-I have played more "name game", "alphabet game", "I spy", "Shag, kill, marry", and "initial game" in the past few days in the training room then I care to remember. You know its a problem when the athletes can walk in and immediately know what you are playing and join in.

Thats all for now. Time for TWINS BASEBALL! GO JOE and KEVIN!

Seasonal Affect Disorders!

Sorry about the lack of posts! I'll do better, I promise. Scouts honor.

Before I ever came to school in the tundra, I never thought a whole town could have seasonal affect disorder. Believe me people, it's possible. If you don't know what SAD is and care, read below. If not, skip to the next paragraph. According to Mayo Clinic, SAD is:

Like many people, you may develop cabin fever during the winter months. Or you may find yourself eating more or sleeping more when the temperature drops and darkness falls earlier. While those are common and normal reactions to the changing seasons, people with seasonal affective disorder (SAD) experience a much more serious reaction when summer shifts to fall and on to winter.
With seasonal affective disorder, fall's short days and long nights may trigger feelings of depression, lethargy, fatigue and other problems. Don't brush this off as simply a case of the "winter blues" that you have to tough out on your own.
Seasonal affective disorder is a type of depression, and it can severely impair your daily life. That said, treatment — which may include light box therapy — can help you successfully manage seasonal affective disorder. You don't have to dread the dawning of each fall or winter
.

And yes, a WHOLE TOWN can be affected by it!

But no more! It got to 63 degrees today! 63 DEGREES! Fahrenheit! And football has been practicing outside so I'm getting some sun...although only on my face!

Anywho... I haven't blogged since TWINS BASEBALL started! YAY! I am so excited! I am quickly falling in love with some players *cough, Span, Slowey, cough* I LOVE Kevin Slowey! And am loving Denard Span as well! But one major ingredient is missing. JOE MAUER! Come back soon! I MISS JOE! COME BACK SOON JOE!

I stayed up in Grand Forks over Easter. Wha, whaw... Oh well, I was able to have dinner with one of my friends so I wasn't totally alone.

I haven't talked to Kayt in a long time so I don't really have an update for you on her. Hope everything is well you readers (yes all two of you!)

...more joint blogs...

On one of our last nights together (for a while) we came up with the genius idea to create this blog, to try to let the rest of the world infiltrate the brain waves that we share.

In true Law and Order fashion, THIS is our story:

We were two young, moldable girls...going to college far away from family and friends. By chance, or fate (you choose) we were put in the same room. While neither of us may get along well with anyone else (living-wise)... we formed a unique bond... We were both a little worried when reading the initial e-mails from each other, but we need not fear. (We'll show you the e-mails, but thats for another blogging day.) We became immediate BFFS! (what does bff really mean? we don't know but thats what we are!) Our first bonding moment: when we came back to our dorm room and couldn't get the door open. Good times in McVey! We learned, laughed, and watched a lot of TV and movies together; and neither of our worlds has ever been the same since.

So anyway, one of us is changing her path and leaving the other pea in the pod alone (not really...just without a physically close bff). So, finals are approaching, our time together is dwindleling...and we are wasting some of it by creating a blog... enjoy!

Pea #1 - Kels...
-Sports enthusiast
-Clutz
-Messy
-Completely in love with Joe Mauer
-Indie film lover (and just any movie in general)
-Doesn't really give a rat's bum what other people want...
-Listens to Christmas carols the day after Halloween (thats a lie...all year long...)
-Math stupid
-The one staying...

Pea #2 - Kayt...
-Book enthusiast
-Not-so-clutzy
-Organized
-Completely in love with (besides Kels) ????
-Not so much the lover of the indie films...but will watch, just to pacify Kels
-People pleaser
-Listens to Christmas carols the day after Thanksgiving
-Speller stupid
-The one leaving...

See how improbable our friendship is? In Kels's defense, she reads...a lot. And in Kayt's defense...because of Kels, she is beginning to appreciate sports... and Kels cares what some people think...particularly Joe Mauer (just kidding... no not really...)

Kels & Kayt (for the first and possibly last time blogging together)
